"The Great RO-RO Project" of U.N RO-RO Operations has been a mile stone in Turkish marine history. This innovation has enriched the Turkish fleet with modern and functional vessels and it has been a prominent development worldwide with regard to RO-RO vessels and RO-RO transportation. RO-RO transportation is accepted as a completely new concept in transportation worldwide and a revolutionary vision is brought not only to Republic of Turkey but to world with the establishment of U.N RO-RO Operations.

Under the fast RO-RO project, realised by UN RO-RO Operations, RO-RO vessels UND Ege, UND Adriyatik, UND Atılım and UND Birlik have exceeded the application on recently sold vessels UND Akdeniz and UND Karadeniz which were considered as "design wonders" and constructed by German shipbuilders, Flensburgers Schiffbau Gesellsschaft (FSG).

These ships were built with an extra forth deck which gives them a higher vehicle carrying capacity. Reaching 3.214 lane meters capacity, these ships are more economical in operation-wise.

High Capacity
These four vessels, the first of their kinds, reach the capacity of 205 trailers with the help of their fourth decks without losing their speed, economic conditions and shapes.

UND Ege, UND Adriyatik, UND Atılım and UND Birlik vessels, running in between Pendik and Trieste in 52 hours with 21. 4 nautical miles, were built in German Flensburger Schiffbau Gesellschaft (FSG) Shipyard.

First In Mediterranean
All four of the vessels are classed by Det Norske Veritas. Apart from the classification, number of ships owned and the capacity offered determine the ship owners' rating. U.N RO-RO Operations won the title of "first degree ship owner" in Mediterranean and ranked as world's first seven with these vessels.

High Technology
Ships having a strong bow thruster can maneuver in a pier less than half an hour. Loading-unloading time is approx. 5 to 6 hours.


Enduring Ships
These ships can navigate in all waters of the world including oceans. Flume tanks considerably reduce rolling of the ship. Besides, these vessels became more stable with their additional decks.

Big Ceremony
First ship to go into service was UND Ege on 15 June 2001. UND Adriyatik went into service on 1 September 2001.

Pput its first ship UND Atılım into service on 11 January 2002 and put its second ship UND Birlik into service on 28 March 2002.

RO-RO vessels, taken into consideration as a different branch in maritime business, Ege, Adriyatik, Atilim and Birlik made a revolution with their fourth decks.

UND EGE RO-RO Ship of the Year around the World.
UND Ege RO-RO ship was chosen as the "RO-RO Ship of the Year" by ShipPax in 2001 among all the other Ro-Ro ships.

According to the evaluation of ShipPax, considered as an authority in its field, criteria for design, productivity, capacity, technological innovations are taken into consideration. UND Ege, chosen as "the best" according to those criteria, has the same specification with the other three vessels landed on the sea after UND Ege in this category.
