I am writing this farewell letter after 43 years in this business in which I served 30 years in UND and RODER Executive Boards. As of 21.12.2009, Cemil Bayulgen, who has been my colleague for 15 years and our company’s general manager, will replace me as U.N Ro-Ro’s Head of Board of Directors. The success of the two companies I have worked for since their first days, ERNAK and U.N Ro-Ro, will definitely be source of pride of my career.

2 years after U.N Ro-Ro’s sale, I am glad to see that the sale was a complete success and the worries of people who opposed the sale have disappeared. People who thought that the freight rates would double or the vessels would be taken to other countries no longer complain. U.N Ro-Ro and the vessels are here to stay and the rates are same as January 2003 despite higher oil prices. On the other hand, Turkish economy and our sector have received $1.3 billion of FDI. This sale helped over 200 partners of our company to cope with the global economic crisis.
